Introduction Letter/Resumé

To whom this may concern,

As a new member of your school community, I would like to introduce myself and share some of my interests, experiences, and qualifications. My name is Bryn Gregg. I am currently a certifying teacher candidate in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg. I am majoring in English with a minor in History. I am a proud Winnipegger, dog mom and love to spin fire (a hobby I picked up during Covid-19 lockdowns). For my early education, I attended Ecole Guyot, Shamrock School and Niakwa School to then go onto graduating from J.H. Bruns high school. I am a friendly and enthusiastic person who gets along well with people of all ages. I enjoy communicating, exploring, and learning new things every day. Starting at the young age of twelve, I have adapted to a variety of situations and positions in the field of child-care services and education. This includes babysitting, nannying for families with multiple children, working at multiple daycares, volunteering at St. Amant and in Winnipeg School Division, tutoring in French, being an educational assistant at H.S. Paul School and most recently teaching kindergarten in Bangkok, Thailand.

In April of 2017, I deferred a semester of school and moved to Thailand to further my experience as a new teacher. I taught english, science, social studies, math, STEAM, cooking, and health at the kindergarten level in a Manitoba affiliated International School named Lertlah, to two classes totaling at 42 students who were 3-4 years old. I am very grateful for my experiences and endeavors as a teacher in Thailand because I was able to able to “jump in with both feet” and really put my skills to test as a new teacher. I completed three terms of report cards, observations, and assessments, facilitated exams and tests, and independently taught lessons, units, activities, and games to my students.

I’ve completed the Continuing Education program at the Universite de Saint-Boniface and received my French Merit Certificate when graduating high school. I have experience working alongside students ages 3-13 and look forward to gaining experience teaching high school students next year in my year 5 practicum block. I enjoy getting my hands dirty with interactive activities, working, and sharing my skills with others, the challenge of learning new skills, and stepping outside my comfort zone. I am sporty, spunky, creative, imaginative, energetic, adaptive, and artistic. I am a passionate and skilled artist; I look forward to implementing a variety of art mediums into the curriculum in my own teaching practice. I believe with my combination of skills and experience I make a valuable member to any classroom and look forward to being a part of yours! I am available by text or email at any time. Please feel free to contact me by phone call. If I miss your call, leave a message and I will call back shortly!
